Services

Consultation Appointment

Before we begin a psychodiagnostic assessment or therapy, it is important to determine if I am able to provide the help you are looking for. Once you have submitted your contact information I will reach out to within 3 business days to schedule a free, 15-minute consultation appointment. At this appointment I will ask follow-up questions to make sure we are a good fit. If it seems like we’re a good match, then we’ll move forward with scheduling your first appointment.

Length: 15 minutes
Cost: Free

We will meet on a regular basis for 55-minute sessions to collaborate on your treatment goals and strategize together on how to reach them as quickly as possible. In the beginning of therapy, I require you to commit to weekly sessions, which helps to build momentum and facilitate change faster.

If the patient is a minor, it is often helpful for the caregiver to be involved in treatment. Sometimes this means sessions with both the patient + caregivers present and sometimes this means sessions with solely the caregiver present. We will discuss together what level of caregiver involvement makes sense for your family.

Length (weekly): 55 minutes
Cost: $150 per session

Individual Therapy

Length (weekly):

  • 55-minute individual therapy

  • 55-minute family session

  • Between-session availability via text/phone

Cost: $250 per week

Dialectical Behavior Therapy

Research shows dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is the only well-established treatment for youth with self-injurious thoughts and behaviors (read research article here). DBT is multifaceted:

  1. It involves weekly, 55-minute sessions where you will be introduced to skills you can use to reduce the frequency of behaviors that are life-threatening or that reduce your quality of life (e.g., avoidance, self-injury, substance use, interpersonal conflicts, impulsivity).

  2. Because DBT is a skills-based approach, it assumes patients may need additional support in between sessions. Therefore, I offer on-call phone coaching, allowing you to reach me by text/phone for additional support in between sessions during times of intense emotional distress.

  3. If the patient is a minor, DBT also involves weekly family sessions where we discuss skills to improve the relationship and communication between the patient and their caregivers.

  4. Consistent with the DBT approach, I also meet for consultation with a team of other DBT therapists on a weekly basis, several of whom provide care at McLean’s internationally-recognized 3East Residential DBT Program and who are faculty in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.

Because of this higher level of support offered, individual DBT sessions cost more than regular individual therapy.

Patients often find psychodiagnostic assessments helpful when creating 504 Plans/IEPs (learn more about 504/IEPs here), planning discharge care, or when determining the focus of their treatment. This process involves the patient completing a 2-3 hour diagnostic interview with me and completing some questionnaires (as well as the patient’s caregiver, if patient is a minor). I may also ask for other individuals who know you well (e.g., teachers, spouses) to complete brief surveys about you. I will then synthesize this information into a written report with recommendations and share this information with you during a 30-minute feedback session. This assessment will include evaluation of:

  • Anxiety Disorders (selective mutism, separation, social, phobias, generalized, panic)

  • Obsessive-Compulsive Spectrum

  • PTSD

  • Depressive Disorders

  • Bipolar and Related Disorders

  • Sleep Disorders (insomnia, night terror)

  • ADHD

  • Disruptive, Impulse-control, and Conduct Disorders

  • Eating Disorders

  • Substance Use Disorders

  • Borderline Personality Disorder

Length:

  • 2-3 hour diagnostic interview with patient

  • 2-3 hour diagnostic interview with caregiver (if patient is a minor)

  • Questionnaires

  • 30-minute feedback session

Cost: $700
